Symantec Backup Exec™ 11d for Windows® Servers is the gold standard in Windows data recovery, providing continuous, cost-effective, high-performance and certified disk-to-disk-to-tape backup and recovery. Now extending continuous protection to Microsoft® Exchange and SQL Server in addition to file servers and workstations, Backup Exec eliminates daily backups and provides specific point-in-time recovery.
Recover critical data in seconds with new, improved protection for Microsoft applications. Individual Exchange messages, folders and mailboxes can be recovered in seconds - without mailbox backups. This reduces the time and resources needed for backup and speeds up recovery. For Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, Backup Exec 11d enables single-document recovery of servers as well as recovery of SharePoint services, databases and server farms. Backup Exec 11d also helps enable the recovery of SQL Server 2005 snapshots in seconds. It introduces protection and recovery for IBM® DB2®, Oracle® RAC and Oracle RMAN.
Enhancing data security, Backup Exec 11d includes AES 128-bit and 256-bit encryption, helping to ensure protected data is secure when moved over a network or stored on tape. And Backup Exec 11d extends platform support to protection of both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows environments, including the Backup Exec server as well as protected clients or servers. The new Backup Exec Agent for NDMP protects NetApp® Filer.
